Inaugural All In Free Poker Hall of Fame Event

November 10, 2009

All In Free Poker

Hall of Fame

On Saturday night, November 7th, there were 80 players and guest invited to Gilbert’s 17th Street Grill in Ft. Lauderdale for this inaugural All In Free Poker Hall of Fame event! Of those invited, some would be inducted into the first ever Hall of Fame Class.

11 players were selected based on a multitude of factors, including, but not limited to, length of play in the league, frequency of play, success in the league, and success in the finals. A 12th player was selected for all of his contributions to the league, specifically focusing on his charitable contributions to the American Cancer Society.

We had a great time and thank all of our great and loyal players for their support over the years and continuing into the future. Each year we will continue this tradition of the Hall of Fame, so play hard and try to get in.

Each of the following players are the inaugural class and are a bounty each time they play through the end of the next finals. If you knock them out of a nightly event, you’ll receive a 3rd place finish in addition to what you earn in that tournament, as a bonus.

Here’s your inaugural class:

Andy Weir                        Bill Scott                    Colleen Brangan

Elaine Hedleston             Greg Danver             Holly Wright

Joe Mazza                        John Morrow                    Rob Blum

Steven Patterson                    Ted Mass                    Toni Licastro

So congrats to all of our players for making this league so successful for over 4 ½ years and tens of thousands of tournaments, and especially to the first 12 into our hall of fame.

Finals Recap

Our 20th Finals is in the Books

Over 190 players in two different sessions on Sunday, October 18th, play began and we played down to a single winner, the aptly named Tom Winningham, who bested the field on Tuesday night, October 20th. The bar shirts were out in full force, with Team Duck & Ye Olde Falcon’s Duck Hunters leading the way, but great representation by Roy’s & Inn Field too.

Tom, a member of Team Duck, defeated Andy Payson heads up. In doing so, Tom won over $1,600 in buy-ins to the isle casino events with a total prize pool of over $70k guaranteed, including two $440 buy-in $30,000 guaranteed isle monthly events; as well as a $2,000 full size game used poker table from the WPT Boot Camp, for a total of over $3,800 in entries & prizes.

Andy, a first season player from the Parkland area, lost heads up with the blinds at $50,000/$100,000 with a $10,000 ante. Bruce won entry to the isle $440 buy-in $30,000 guaranteed event, the $230 Tuesday $10k guaranteed event, the $150 buy-in Thursday night bounty tournament, the October 25th AIFP Cruise Satellite, and the $100 triple up for next finals, in all over $1,070 in prizes with potential winnings of over $40,000!

Maria Dellutri, the highest placing woman player this final, and wife to Sal Dellutri owner of Ye Olde Falcon Pub, finished 3rd, winning an entry to the $230 Tuesday $10k guaranteed event, as well as the $100 AIFP Cruise Satellite on October 25th and the $100 triple up for the next finals. Fourth place went to longtime player Walter Chance and he won an entry to the $230 Tuesday $10k guaranteed event, as well as the $100 AIFP Cruise Satellite on October 25th; as did 5th place finisher Al Hinson, a longtime player & sponsor of the league with Don Bailey Flooring. 6th – Mitch “Magic Man” Davie, 7th – Pam McDole, 8th – Janice Dippel, 9th – Robert Filter and 10th – John Lynch all won a $100 entry to the October 25th AIFP Cruise Satellite. The top 50 all qualified for the WWT season finale tournament in early 2010.

The top ten all received beautiful trophies compliments of Gary Catronio of Space Crafters and Caran Art & Frame. We’d also like to thank our newest chip sponsors, Blair Damson Realtor and Deb & Al Hinson with Don Bailey Flooring.

Congrats to all our fine players and thanks again for another great season! The new season has just begun, so get qualified for our 21st final January 10th, 2010.
